Docs Advanced Analytics Analytics Dashboard Overview

Analytics Dashboard Overview

The Advanced Analytics addon adds an Analytics section to the ToolDocs admin dashboard with multiple views for understanding your traffic and conversions.

Sessions

The main analytics view. Shows a complete picture of visitor sessions and how they convert.

  • Overview metrics — total sessions, conversions, conversion rate, average page views, and average time to conversion.
  • Sessions over time — chart with hour, day, week, or month intervals.
  • Traffic source breakdown — direct, search, social, referral, email, and paid traffic distribution.
  • Top referrer domains — which sites send you the most traffic.
  • Campaign performance — UTM campaign data showing which campaigns drive sessions and conversions.
  • Landing page analysis — which pages visitors land on first.
  • Conversion time distribution — how long it takes visitors to convert after first visit.
  • Device breakdown — browser, OS, and device type distribution.
  • Real-time visitors — active sessions in the last 5, 15, and 30 minutes.

You can filter by conversion type (registration, login, return visit, download, or form submission) and export data to Excel or JSON.

Downloads

Download-specific analytics with session attribution.

  • Download overview metrics and trends over time
  • Top downloaded files
  • Downloads by document category
  • Downloads by source page (where the download link was placed)
  • Export to Excel or JSON

Page Views

Page view analytics across all tracked sessions.

  • Page view overview and trends
  • Top pages by view count
  • Export to Excel or JSON

Forms

The Forms view requires the External Forms addon to be installed and activated. Without it, this section does not appear in the analytics dashboard.

When active, shows form submission analytics including submission overview metrics, submissions over time, and per-form breakdowns.

Settings

Configure all tracking and privacy options from a single settings panel. See Installation & Setup for a walkthrough of each setting.

Exporting Data

Most dashboard views include an export button. You can export to:

  • Excel (XLSX) — downloadable spreadsheet with all visible data.
  • JSON — raw data for custom processing or import into other tools.

Exports respect your current date range and filter selections. You can optionally include PII (IP addresses, user agents) in exports if needed.
